Following the success of opening for Status Quo, The Darkness, Black Stone Cherry, Slade, Bernie Marsden (Whitesnake), Eric Martin (Mr Big), Graham Bonnet (Rainbow); Walkway’s distinct vocals, jaw dropping solos and solid rhythm section have created a huge buzz and gained the band the reputation as one of the UK’s best unsigned rock bands.


Touring extensively, including shows in Europe (2015 & 2016 totalled a staggering 245 performances), two successful releases in the band’s debut album 'Top Shelf Content' (Dec 2012), second album “Streetwise” (Sept 2014), plus national airplay on BBC Radio 2, Walkway have a huge national fan-base of all ages and a large ever growing online fan base to match.


The successful Walkway brand sees a range of merchandise from caps and badges to beanies and T-shirts and hoodies, plus copies of the bands albums sold and promoted by the band themselves.

The distinctive Walkway logo is easily recognised and seen up and down the country.


In July 2017 the band released their highly anticipated third album, titled 'WWIII'.


Recorded in only 13 days at Sonic One Studio, Wales and mastered at the legendary Abbey Road Studio's by Sean Magee (Grammy winner for his work on the 2009 Beatles Re-masters, and has worked with some of the most prestigious names in pop, rock and jazz worldwide including Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, John Lennon, Gary Moore, Duke Ellington, Nina Simone, U2, Tina Turner, The Sex Pistols and Public Image).


The record contains 12 new Walkway songs, plus a tribute to the late Status Quo Guitarist/Vocalist Rick Parfitt with a cover of Quo's "Rain".

The track also features original Status Quo Drummer John Coghlan guesting on drums.


The album has received rave reviews from the press and public with regular comments of "best rock album of the year so far".


2017 sees Walkway reach the 10 year milestone, plus play their 1000th show since forming in 2007.

Chris first started learning to play the guitar and keys from the age of 13. After a year or so of practice, he then moved onto developing his skills as a songwriter and vocalist. It was in early 2008 when Chris decided to put these talents to use and started up the band Walkway, along with his younger brother James.


Chris’ vocal influences include Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), Steve Perry (Journey) and Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin). Chris’ passion for rock music is evident from his performance at shows. The crowd gets drawn in from his charismatic stage presence and distinct vocal style. Live is where Chris really excels.


Chris uses Sennheiser Mics, Gibson Guitars, Dean Markley Strings and Blackstar Amplification.

Lead Guitar / Backing Vocals


James has been playing guitar since the age of 10 and despite being the youngest member of the band, he has gained the reputation as one of the best guitarists within the UK’s current rock music scene.


He is also a founding member of the band.


James’ guitar influences include Edward Van Halen (Van Halen), Joe Satriani (Joe Satriani, Chickenfoot) and Joe Bonamassa (Joe Bonamassa, Black Country Communion).


James uses Tony Edwards, Gibson, Ibanez, PRS, Fender and Faith guitars, Orange and Hayden Amplification and a variety of pedals.

Drums / Percussion / Backing Vocals


Andy started playing music aged 9, and was regularly gigging on the Ipswich music scene by age 11.


Having played with many high-profile bands and artists, including Breed 77, Gregg Wright (Michael Jackson) and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chickenfoot), Andy’s true professionalism and great showmanship to compliment his superb drumming ability made him the obvious choice for Walkway when joining the band in December 2016.


Andy's influences include Benny Greb, Travis Barker (Blink 182) Jeff Porcaro (Toto) and Ian Paice (Deep Purple)


Andy uses DW and Pork Pie Drums, Istanbul Cymbals, Evans Drum Heads, Wincent Sticks, Crush Pedals, Hardcase Drum Cases and  a Pork Pie Drum Stool.

Mik Skiba

Bass Guitar


Mik first started getting involved with music at the age of 10.


Having been on the music scene in Ipswich for a few years, Mik has played many gigs in and around Ipswich with various musicians.


Although his main instrument being the electric guitar (for 9 years), after receiving a call from Walkway to audition as Bassist, Mik decided to broaden his musical vocabulary by picking up the Bass.


Mik’s influences include Steve Vai (Steve Vai, Whitesnake), Slash (Guns N Roses, Slash), Jimi Hendrix, and Duff McKagan (Guns N Roses) amongst many other artists that have had a critical impact on his playing and musical career.


Mik proudly uses Ibanez Basses and Orange Amplification amongst a variety of pedals and different accessories.
