I was born on the 20th of November 1991 and have been playing rhythm guitar and singing for about 4 years now.
I gained interest in rock music from my dad, as he has played in a rock covers band for 30 years.
Before music took over I was really into sports, and played defence in a local football team and for my school.
I soon realised that I wanted to seriously learn an instrument after I began listening to bands such as Led Zeppelin, I loved their music and simply just wished that I could do the same as them when I was older, as they have been my main influence.
At this point I decided that I wanted to play piano/ keyboards and had lessons for about a year; however this didn’t fully satisfy what I wanted to do, from watching my brother James play guitar I decided I wanted to learn to play one too, and then start a band up just like my dad playing rhythm guitar.
After learning the basics I received my first ever guitar and amp, my red 1980’s Jackson inherited from my dad, and a Roland 60watt cube amp which helped me improve.
Once I felt good enough I started up the band with James, asking our friend Alex to play Bass, and whose dad plays Bass in my dad’s band.
After finding a drummer we were known as “Top Shelf Content” however we looked for a singer at this time as I didn’t think I could do it, as I am shy (and still am) or think I was good enough for the type of music I wanted to play.
After thinking hard about it I decided I wanted to be the front man in the band and follow in the footsteps of my idols Steve Tyler, Robert Plant and Freddie Mercury.
However as I was only starting and had no experience, me and the drummer shared the singing, playing a few gigs around the East Anglia area in pubs, village halls and clubs..
After a time wasting exercise with another drummer we found Jack to take over on the drums, at this point we had already decided on a new start and image, and had changed our name to Walkway.
At this point I was on lead vocals and writing songs with James, and occasionally help dad out by singing with his band if he’s ill.
I got my 2001 Cherry Sunburst Les Paul standard guitar for my 16th birthday as at this time I wanted to expand my equipment further and began listening to lighter rock music at this time. Although I love music from bands like Zeppelin, Van Halen and AC/DC, The Eagles and Journey are now two of my favourite bands, all now influencing me in what I am now doing. |

I was born on the 12th July 1993 and have been playing guitar for around 6 years now. At the age of 10 I first picked up the guitar and started gaining interest in rock music, listening and playing along to bands such as Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, etc…
My dad has played in a rock covers band for 30 years, taking me and my brother Chris along to some of their local gigs. This inspired me to take my guitar playing to the next level. These days I occasionally play lead guitar in dad’s band to help out if and when needed.
I got my first guitar when I was 10 while on holiday in Las Vegas which is my platinum Gibson Les Paul, I was 13 when I got my Ibanez Jem 7v, although I still favor playing my Gibson.
After trying out numerous amps and taking advice, I found the Vox AD50VT to be the best amp for me which I could find, I have now upgraded from the 50 to the AD100VT combo with a 4 x 12 cab to cope with some of the larger gigs we now play at.
After moving to high school I got good at playing Rugby and was a key member in the school team, however I soon realised that a serious injury could end my guitar playing career and gave it up to give 100% to my music and song writing with brother Chris.
I started up the band with my brother Chris and asked our friend Alex to play Bass, at this time we were called Top-Shelf-Content, playing a few local gigs.
After Jack joined to become our new drummer we were lifted to a higher level and got the sound and commitment we had been looking for.
These days I help out with some lead and backing vocals. |

My name is Jack Stevens and I was born on 6th Jan 1994. Since the age of 9, after seeing the Swiss army drum corps at the Edinburgh military tattoo, I’ve always wanted to be a drummer. For five or so years, thoughts brewed away about one day being able to play alongside likeminded musicians. So, after a good bit of nagging the parents, I invested in a small beginner five piece kit. I bashed that thing everywhere, trying to be the next John Bonham or Keith Moon. A good few years later, (and a few band line ups later), I finally got given a number from my drum tutor about a young classic rock group called Walkway, looking for a drummer. After arranging an audition, (and then getting it), I joined. Simple as. Being halfway through the recording of a CD, I started straight in with the live performances. I suddenly felt like a true musician, and at only 14, hopefully the guys and me will be doing something bigger in the future!

I’m Alex Rosedale and was born on 27th September 1990.
I was about 12 when I first got interested in bass guitar and have been playing for about 5 years now.
I got recruited into my school band and with the help of my dad, who plays bass in a band with Chris and James dad, was able to play the songs they wanted.
After I left south lee school and the band I was in, I didn't have much to do except practice, but a few years later my friends Chris and James came to me, wondering if I would be interested in playing bass for them.
I was inspired to play bass mainly by my dad, and started practicing to the Red Hot Chili Peppers and got really interested in the style of play of the bassist (Michael Balzary aka Flea) and think this really influenced my bass playing technique. I also started out playing some Green Day and Offspring both of which have also influenced me.
My first Bass guitar was a Yamaha RBX170 metallic red 4 string and after 3 years of playing it I decided to get a new one.
My new bass is the one I always use and is a Warwick rockbass corvette basic 5 String with a transparent blue gloss finish, it plays like a dream but took some time to get used to, using 5 strings over 4. My first and current Amp is a Trace Elliot 1225V Twin Valve 210 Combo which was passed down to me by my dad when he needed an upgrade, the amp itself is older then me.
I recently decided to get a new speaker cabinet and chose the Ashdown MAG-115 at 250 watts. It’s made a huge difference to my sound and I use it at every gig. |
